How to Blog Part 9: Who Are You Blogging For?

When you blog, who are you blogging for?

The answers I usually get are for fans, family, professionals, or fellow industry professionals. I hear “people who want to know X” or “someone interested in Y.”

All of these answers are wrong.

You blog for you.

Yes, you.

You blog for Y.O.U.

You blog for someone like you. Someone interested in the things you are interested in.

Someone searching for the information you found.

Someone passionate about what you blog about.

That’s who you blog for.

You blog for yourself – and someone just like you.
