I came out of the grocery store to find a car parked near mine with antlers. Reindeer antlers specifically.
I laughed and laughed and had to take a picture.
Think of the person brave enough to put antlers on their car for the holidays. It takes courage to be laughed at and made fun of, even if you are the source of the fun.
In “The Game of Thrones,” the character Tyrion Lannister said:
Would you rather be called the Imp? Let them see that their words can cut you, and you’ll never be free of the mockery. If they want to give you a name, take it, make it your own. Then they can’t hurt you with it anymore.
…Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.
The blogosphere is full of hateful people as well as generous and compassionate souls. Blogging does not make you immune from bullies and jokers. Make it your strength, and it can never be your weakness if you are brave and have the courage to put antlers on your car and be proud of it.
Be different, be real! It keeps life interesting!
