Putting a lot of energy into that first post?
I’ve found that the need for perfection, getting it just right, often gets in the way of hitting publish.
Have a book or magazine article published, it’s fixed. Permanent.
Blogs can edited and changed at any time. You can clean up your mistakes indefinitely.
Make your first post a simple introduction, describing the purpose of the site, and a little tidbit about you. Hit publish.
Get it over with fast.
Then start working on posts number two, three, and four.
Blogs are published in reverse chronological order. Within a short time, your first post will be buried. Very few people find your first post, and you will rarely revisit it, so let it go and focus on the bigger challenges ahead, writing more posts and feeding the blog animal.
